Used Anex kitchenware & crockery in Islamabad & Rawalpindi
Is a used Anex kitchenware & crockery worth buying?
Anex numbers everything: each blender, fryer or kettle carries an AG- code on the rating plate under the base, and that code — not the shape of the jar — is what a parts shop matches a coupler, blade assembly or mill to. Buy a used Anex with a legible plate and the repair path is an errand; buy one without it and every spare becomes trial and error.
Made or assembled in Pakistan
Spares are widely stocked locally and most technicians in the twin cities have worked on these, so common faults are usually economic to repair.
Anex is a Pakistani brand sold and serviced through its own dealer network as well as the general appliance-parts shops of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, so couplers, jars, blades, gaskets, switches and thermostats are all obtainable locally and cheaply. They are obtained against the AG- code, though, which is why the rating plate matters more on an Anex than the outward condition does.

Checking a used Anex kitchenware & crockery
These are specific to Anex. The general kitchenware & crockery checks apply too and are on the kitchenware & crockery page.
Read the AG- number first
Anex marks every product with an AG- code on the rating plate under the base, and parts shops match couplers, jars, blades and thermostats to that code rather than by eye. A plate rubbed illegible turns a five-minute spare into a matching exercise.
Match mills to the base
Anex sells its blenders as a base with several jars — blender jug, dry mill, chutney mill — and mills from different AG- models look alike while differing in thread and blade assembly. Seat and lock each jar on this base before accepting the set as complete.
Inspect the drive coupler
The toothed plastic coupler on the motor shaft drives all three jars on a multi-jar Anex, so it takes triple the duty and is the part that rounds off. A jar that turns slowly, or stalls under load while the motor keeps running, is usually that coupler rather than the motor.
Load the dry mill
Dry grinding is the hardest duty these bases ever see and is what finishes them. Run the mill on a handful of dry rice or spice, feel the base for heat and listen for the motor dropping in pitch — a jug of water tells you nothing.
Test the kettle cut-out
On Anex kettles and fryers the thermostat and auto cut-out are the safety parts, and like everything else they are ordered against the AG- code. A kettle that boils but will not switch off is a cheap fix where the plate is readable, and a For Parts / Repair unit where it is not.
What Anex kitchenware & crockery are worth
- A legible AG- plate carries value of its own, because without it couplers, jars and thermostats have to be matched by trial, and a base nobody can match spares to is graded down.
- Complete multi-jar sets hold value above bare bases, since Anex mills are matched to their base by code and buying one loose is a gamble the buyer prices in.
- Motor condition sets the ceiling: switches, couplers and gaskets are cheap and stocked, so a strong motor with tired controls is worth more than a tidy shell that hums without turning.

General kitchenware & crockery checks
These apply whatever the badge on the front says — the kitchenware & crockery page covers them in full.
Count settings and serving pieces
Lay a dinner service out and check it against the number of place settings it was sold as, then count the serving pieces separately: lidded bowls, the gravy jug, the large platter. A set that still has its plates but none of those sells as loose plates rather than as a service.
Run a fingernail over rims
Chips and hairline cracks catch the nail before the eye finds them. Hold plates against a window as well: a fine network of cracks in the glaze, called crazing, stains permanently and keeps spreading, so a crazed piece is decorative rather than daily crockery.
Stand pans on flat surface
Press each edge of the base in turn. A pan that rocks has a warped bottom and will never sit properly on a hotplate or a modern hob. Look inside stainless steel for small pits, which come from salt left standing in the pan and will not polish out.
Look at the non-stick centre
Deep scratches down to the metal, blistering, or coating lifting at the edge mean the pan has reached the end of its life, since recoating is not practical here. A coating that is intact but dulled still cooks properly and simply grades lower.
Work the pressure cooker valves
Press the safety valve and lift the vent weight; both must move freely. The gasket should still be soft and spring back when squeezed, not hard and flattened. A valve replaced with a bolt, or a lid whose lugs are distorted, is not something to cook with.
Read the backstamp underneath
The maker's mark and pattern name on the base decide whether the set can be topped up later. Unmarked or long-discontinued patterns cannot be matched, and a gold or metallic rim, however smart it looks, rules the piece out of the microwave.
