Sell your used Home Furniture in Islamabad & Rawalpindi

Who buys used home furniture in Islamabad?

Furniture turns over in Islamabad and Rawalpindi mostly through postings, transfers and house moves: wardrobes, dining sets, dressing tables, study desks, showcases and chairs that will not fit the next place. We buy these outright for cash, with free doorstep pickup and payment on collection, so the seller is not left arranging a Suzuki and labour on top of the move.

What we check on a used home furniture

These are the checks that decide the grade — and the same ones worth running yourself before you accept any offer for your home furniture.

Find the unfinished edge

Pull a drawer right out and look at the raw edge of its side, or check the underside of a table top. Continuous grain running from the face through to the edge means solid timber; a pressed, speckled core under a printed foil means board, which rarely survives being taken apart and moved a second time.

Tap the legs for termite

Knock along the bottom few inches of every leg and across the back panel, and look at the floor underneath for fine powder. Solid taps and a clean floor are what you want; a hollow note, mud tunnelling, or small pinholes mean termite, and the infestation travels into your house with the piece.

Work every drawer and door

Open and close each drawer and door through its full travel. A drawer should run without the whole carcass lifting and a door should sit flush with an even gap; a door that droops at its outer corner usually means the hinge screws have torn out of board and need dowelling before they will hold again.

Push it diagonally

Stand at one corner and push the piece gently across its diagonal. A sound wardrobe or table barely moves; visible racking, a creak, or a gap opening at a joint means the mortise-and-tenon work has loosened or the knock-down bolts have stretched their holes.

Rake light across the top

Crouch so a light skims across the top surface instead of shining straight down on it. Faint scratches and dull patches polish out; white heat rings, swollen edges and veneer lifting at the corners are water damage and they stay.

Measure the piece and route

Take height, width and depth, then measure your stairwell turn, lift car and door frames before agreeing anything. Ask whether the piece dismantles and whether its bolts, cam locks and shelf pins are still with it, because a fixed-frame wardrobe that cannot make the turn is worth nothing to you.

What raises the price of used home furniture

  • Solid hardwood such as sheesham or talli holds its value through a move, whereas MDF, particle board and chipboard carcasses lose their grip on screws and cam locks once they have been dismantled.
  • Complete sets sell better than fragments: a dining table with all its chairs, or a bedroom set with the dressing table and side units still together.
  • Pieces that knock down flat for transport are worth more than fixed-frame items that have to be carried whole up a staircase.
  • Original fittings still present, such as keys, shelf pins, cam bolts, glass shelves and mirror backs, save the buyer a hunt and raise value.
  • A size that suits an ordinary flat finds buyers more readily than oversized showcases and heavy formal sets built for a much larger house.

What makes an item For Parts rather than resale

  • Active termite, shown by mud tracks, fine powder under the legs, or a hollow sound where solid timber should be.
  • A board carcass that has taken water, so the edges have swollen and the laminate has lifted away.
  • Racked or split frame joints on a wardrobe or table that would need the whole piece taken apart and re-jointed.
  • A structural part missing with no matching replacement, such as a wardrobe door, a table leaf, or the glass for a showcase.

Brands we see most

These are the home furniture brands that come up most often in the Islamabad and Rawalpindi second-hand market. We trade others too — this is what typically turns up, not a list of what is in stock today.

Selling Home Furniture — frequently asked questions

How can I tell solid wood from board furniture without damaging anything?

Look at an edge that was never meant to be seen: the inside of a drawer side, the underside of a table top, or the back rebate of a wardrobe. Solid sheesham or talli shows the same grain carrying from the face through the edge. Board shows a pressed, speckled core under a printed or foil surface, and the piece often weighs oddly for its size.

Is termite-damaged furniture ever worth repairing?

Rarely, and only when the damage is confined to one detachable part such as a plinth or a back panel. Termite works from the inside out, so what you can see is the smaller part of the problem, and the infestation moves into your house along with the piece. Anything showing mud tracks, powder, or hollow-sounding legs belongs in the For Parts / Repair grade.

Should I get furniture polished before selling it?

Clean it out and wipe it down, but think twice about paying for a refinish. Cleaning helps, because the piece photographs better for WhatsApp and a buyer can see the drawers and the back panel. A polish does not change what actually decides the piece, which is the frame, the joints, and whether termite or water has been into the timber, and on a piece with either of those it only covers the fault up.

Do you buy non-working home furniture?

Yes, we buy non-working home furniture for parts at a reduced price. Just describe the fault honestly and we'll quote accordingly.

How fast do I get paid?

You're paid cash on the spot when we collect the item, after a quick inspection to confirm its condition.
