Used Westpoint kitchen appliances in Islamabad & Rawalpindi
Is a used Westpoint kitchen appliance worth buying?
Westpoint sells its deluxe juicer blender grinder in tiers — two-in-one up to five-in-one — that share a common WF- coded motor base and differ mainly in which jars and attachments were in the box. Second-hand that is the trap: the bases look alike across tiers, so what you are buying is decided by the code on the underside, not by what is standing on the counter.
Made or assembled in Pakistan
Spares are widely stocked locally and most technicians in the twin cities have worked on these, so common faults are usually economic to repair.
Sieves, bowls, locking arms, jars and lids for the common Westpoint sets are held by appliance-spares shops in both cities and ordered against the WF- number on the underside rather than by carrying the broken part in, because the tiers look alike. Older discontinued sets are the hard ones to complete.

Checking a used Westpoint kitchen appliance
These are specific to Westpoint. The general kitchen appliances checks apply too and are on the kitchen appliances page.
Read the WF- code
Westpoint's deluxe sets share a motor base across tiers, so a five-in-one base turns up carrying a two-in-one's jars. The code on the underside is the only way to know what was originally in the box and therefore what is missing from the one in front of you.
Hold the sieve to light
The stainless mesh basket splits at the base, where the grater plate meets the wall, and pulp then passes straight into the juice. A replacement is ordered against the WF- code, and the tiers look alike enough that the code matters more than the photograph.
Latch both bowl arms
The juicer bowl only runs with both locking arms latched. A cracked arm, a broken latch lug or a bowl seated a fraction out leaves a machine dead at the switch with power at the socket, and it is easily mistaken for a burnt-out motor.
Turn the base over
Look for rust on the fixing screws and juice staining around the shaft. A base rinsed under a tap rather than wiped corrodes at the switch contacts and the shaft seal long before the motor gives any trouble.
Work the speed switch
The rotary speed selector, and the pulse position that has to be held down, is the electrical part that wears on these bases. A speed that only works with the knob held between positions is the switch, not the motor.
What Westpoint kitchen appliances are worth
- What the set was originally sold as decides what it is worth, since the tiers share a base: a five-in-one missing its grinder and chopper jars sells as the smaller set it now resembles rather than as a damaged larger one.
- The juicer assembly carries the grade because it is the part that fails; a sound base with a dead juicer is being bought for a function the buyer very likely already has.
- A base washed rather than wiped loses value through the switch and the shaft seal, and that shows as rust on the underside screws before anything electrical misbehaves.

General kitchen appliances checks
These apply whatever the badge on the front says — the kitchen appliances page covers them in full.
Heat a cup of water
Put a mug of water in the microwave and run it for a minute. Properly hot water means the magnetron is still doing its job. Lukewarm water after a full minute, with the turntable turning and the lamp lit as normal, is a dying magnetron rather than a settings problem.
Check the microwave door
Look at the three door latches, the flat face where the door meets the cavity, and the small mica panel on the side wall. A door that does not close square, or a mica cover burnt through and arcing, is a safety matter and not something to negotiate down on.
Run a blender under load
Empty motors always sound fine. Fit the jar, add water and run it: a bearing on its way out whines, and a worn drive coupling slips or rattles. Then check the blade collar for seepage, because a jar that weeps at the base cannot be fixed without the correct seal.
Light every burner
Each burner on a hob or cooker should light from its own ignition, hold a steady blue flame and not lift off the cap. Yellow, uneven flames usually mean blocked ports, which clean up. A burner that stays alight only while the knob is held has a failed thermocouple.
Look inside the oven cavity
Switch the oven on and confirm the elements glow evenly top and bottom, then check the door glass, the hinges and the seal. A sagging door lets heat escape and is what makes an old oven cook unevenly. Heavy flaking of the enamel inside is difficult to make presentable again.
Count the attachments
Small appliances lose value fastest through missing parts. Check for the correct jars and lids, the chopping and kneading blades, the pusher, and any trays or racks. On discontinued models these are hard to source separately, so an incomplete set is worth less than the same appliance complete.
