Used Sole Fitness gym & fitness equipment in Islamabad & Rawalpindi
Is a used Sole Fitness gym & fitness equipment worth buying?
Sole is an imported treadmill and elliptical brand aimed at serious home use, with heavier decks and motors than badge-engineered machines of the same footprint. Used units here usually come out of homes rather than gyms, so hours tend to be low but storage conditions vary widely. Damp storage and a deck that has never been lubricated are the two things you are checking for.
Imported
Parts usually have to be imported or sourced from the grey market, so a repair takes longer and costs more — which matters more on an older unit than the build quality does.
Imported with no broad service network in Pakistan, so consoles, control boards and speed sensors mean bringing a part in. Belts are the one item generic equivalents commonly satisfy, and decks on reversible models can be flipped rather than replaced.

Checking a used Sole Fitness gym & fitness equipment
These are specific to Sole Fitness. The general gym & fitness equipment checks apply too and are on the gym & fitness equipment page.
Lift the belt and feel the deck
Sole decks are thick and reversible on several models, which is the brand's advantage — but only if the deck has been lubricated. A dry, glazed strip under the belt means the wear has already started.
Fold and lock it
The folding hydraulic and its latch take the whole deck's weight. A cylinder that drops fast or a latch that will not engage is a safety fault and is an imported part.
Read any fault code on the console
These consoles report errors as codes rather than simply refusing to start. A code points at the board, the speed sensor or the motor controller — all imported, and all far dearer to resolve than a belt.
Check for damp storage
Home machines get stored on verandas and in stores. Look for surface rust on the deck bolts, the frame underside and the motor cover screws, which indicates humidity the electronics also saw.
What Sole Fitness gym & fitness equipment are worth
- Heavier decks and motors than typical home machines let a used Sole hold value, because the parts that usually retire a home treadmill are over-specified here.
- Electronic faults cost disproportionate value since boards and consoles are imported with no local dealer network behind them.
- Damp storage history pulls value down across the whole machine, as it affects motor, board and fasteners at once rather than one component.

General gym & fitness equipment checks
These apply whatever the badge on the front says — the gym & fitness equipment page covers them in full.
Run the treadmill five minutes
Walk on it, then take it up to a running speed. The belt should keep pace with your footfall instead of hesitating each time you push off, and it should stay centred rather than creeping to one side. Slipping under load means a worn belt or slack drive belt, and a motor housing that smells hot after five minutes is nearing its end.
Feel under the belt edge
Slide a hand under the side of the running belt onto the deck. It should feel slick. A dry, rough or gritty deck is what kills treadmill motors and control boards, because the motor spends its life dragging the belt across friction. Some decks can be turned over or replaced, but only on machines that are still supported.
Cycle the incline through travel
Raise the incline to maximum and bring it back down. Grinding, stalling near the top, or a bang as it drops points at the lift actuator, which is specific to the model and often the part that finishes an otherwise sound machine. Check the console keys all respond and that the magnetic safety key is present, since many machines will not start without it.
Follow the weight-stack cable
Run your fingers along the whole cable and look at every pulley. Broken strands, a flattened section, or a pulley that has cut a groove into the cable mean replacement, and these cables are made to length for each machine. Lift the stack by hand: it should rise and fall smoothly on its guide rods without rocking or scraping.
Count the pins and adjustments
Bench ladders, seat posts, safety catches on a rack and weight-stack selector pins are the parts that go missing, and the equipment is unusable without them. Work every adjustment through its positions, and check that the rack's safety bars seat properly in their holes rather than being wedged in place.
Check plate bores and bars
Weight plates come with either a standard or an Olympic bore, and a set mixed between the two will not fit one bar. Count that the set is complete and that dumbbells come in matched pairs. Roll the barbell along a flat floor to see whether it is bent, and check that the sleeves still spin freely.
