Used Samsung computer accessories & monitors in Islamabad & Rawalpindi
Is a used Samsung computer accessories & monitor worth buying?
Samsung is unusual among monitor brands here in having both a genuine authorised retail channel and a steady private-import stream, and the two are not the same purchase. Samsung also makes its own panels, which is why its curved VA screens are the ones buyers go looking for by name. Start with the full model code on the rear label — it carries more than the size.
Mixed — partly assembled locally
Parts availability depends on the model line: locally assembled ranges are straightforward, imported ones less so. Worth confirming before you count on a repair.
Samsung's local service network is built around phones, televisions and home appliances, so confirm a branch handles monitors before assuming a repair route exists. Everything else goes to independent panel shops that cross-match boards, which is practical on a common model and much harder on an imported one whose board never sold here.

Checking a used Samsung computer accessories & monitor
These are specific to Samsung. The general computer accessories & monitors checks apply too and are on the computer accessories & monitors page.
Read the full model code
Samsung monitor codes run on past the model to a market suffix, as in the letters trailing LS24R350FHW. Compare that suffix against a locally sold example of the same model, or ask an authorised branch, since it is the label evidence of which market the unit was built for.
Inspect a curved panel's edges
Samsung's curved VA panels take case flex from transport less forgivingly than a flat panel. Put a white image up and look along the extreme left and right edges for shading or clouding that follows the curve.
Work the rear jog controller
Most Samsung monitors have no button row: the menu, the power and input switching all run through one jog stick under the rear right corner. Push it in all four directions and press it in — a dead jog leaves you stuck on whatever input it is showing.
Check the stand's captive screws
Samsung stands bolt to the panel with captive hand screws held in the neck. Missing screws leave the panel unable to stand up, and the correct thread is not a shelf item locally.
Reset a Smart Monitor
The M-series Smart Monitors run Tizen and hold the previous owner's account and Wi-Fi. Confirm the remote is present and run a factory reset from the menu before collection, since the interface is built to be driven by that remote.
What Samsung computer accessories & monitors are worth
- Locally supplied units hold value better than privately imported ones, because Samsung Pakistan's authorised service takes on a board fault only for stock that came through its own channel.
- Curved and ultrawide panels hold value with the buyer who specifically wants one, but they sit longer than a flat panel and suffer more from a rough move.
- A Smart Monitor without its remote loses value out of proportion to the missing part, since the Tizen interface has no practical button alternative on the set.

General computer accessories & monitors checks
These apply whatever the badge on the front says — the computer accessories & monitors page covers them in full.
Test on white and black
On white, dark specks that do not wipe away are dead pixels and any yellow or grey shadowing shows up plainly. On black in a dim room, a faint glow in the corners is normal on an IPS panel, but a bright band along a whole edge or a milky cloud through the middle means the backlight diffuser has shifted, and that is not a cheap repair.
Watch it from cold
Switch it on after it has been off for a while and just look at it. Flicker, an image that takes several tries to appear, or a screen that lights and then fades to almost nothing while the picture is still visible if you shine a torch at it, all point at the power board or the backlight driver rather than at a setting.
Test every video input
Feed a picture through HDMI, DisplayPort and VGA in turn and wiggle the plug at each socket. A picture that cuts out when the cable moves means a cracked solder joint on the socket. Check too that the power adapter is the one made for that monitor, because external bricks get swapped between models and the wrong one strains the board.
Check stand and VESA holes
Lift the monitor by its stand and see whether the panel sags or the tilt hinge holds where you set it. Then look at the four screw holes on the back: if they are stripped or the model only ever took a proprietary bracket, a generic arm or wall mount will not fit and a missing stand becomes a real problem.
Work the keyboard and mouse
Open a text box and work across the whole keyboard including the number pad and the arrow cluster. Keys that stick, repeat or do nothing usually mean a spill has reached the membrane. On a mouse, click slowly twenty times and watch for one press registering as two, which is a worn micro-switch, and scroll a long page to catch a jumping wheel.
Copy files both ways
For an external hard disk or SSD, move a few gigabytes each way and watch the transfer speed hold steady, then read the drive's SMART data for reallocated sectors and power-on hours. Clicking, a transfer that stalls at the same point, or a drive that vanishes from the desktop mid-copy means the drive is on its way out.
