Used LG computer accessories & monitors in Islamabad & Rawalpindi
Is a used LG computer accessories & monitor worth buying?
LG makes IPS panels for much of the industry and puts them in its own monitors, so a used LG is often chosen specifically for colour consistency and wide viewing angles rather than for the badge. Locally sold stock circulates alongside imported UltraWide and UltraFine models. The UltraWide range in particular has a following among people running two documents side by side, and those units hold interest well.
Mixed — partly assembled locally
Parts availability depends on the model line: locally assembled ranges are straightforward, imported ones less so. Worth confirming before you count on a repair.
LG runs authorised service in both cities, though the network is oriented to televisions and home appliances more than monitors. Panel-level and board-level repairs go to independent shops; the plastic stand components are the part most often needed and least often available.

Checking a used LG computer accessories & monitor
These are specific to LG. The general computer accessories & monitors checks apply too and are on the computer accessories & monitors page.
Check the stand foot
LG's slim arc and crescent stand feet are thin plastic and crack where the neck meets the base. Press down on the panel and watch for flex — a cracked foot is not a shelf-stocked spare here.
Verify it is really IPS
LG sells both IPS and TN panels. View a white screen from a sharp side angle: IPS stays neutral, TN shifts and darkens. The model number on the rear label confirms it.
Test the joystick control
Most LG monitors use a single bottom-centre joystick instead of buttons. Click and push it in all four directions — a worn joystick makes the on-screen menu unreachable and is a fiddly board-level repair.
Look for image retention on UltraWide
Show a solid grey screen after the unit has displayed a static desktop. Faint outlines of taskbars or window edges indicate retention from long static use, common on office UltraWides.
Confirm the power input type
Slimmer LG models take a small external adapter with a barrel plug; larger ones take a kettle lead. The barrel adapters are model-specific and frequently go missing between owners.
What LG computer accessories & monitors are worth
- Genuine IPS panels hold value above the category average, because the buyers who want them ask for the panel type by name and will not accept a TN substitute.
- A cracked or missing stand foot drags value down sharply, since the part is proprietary plastic with no local replacement.
- UltraWide models hold interest with a specific working audience, so condition matters more than size in setting where they land.
General computer accessories & monitors checks
These apply whatever the badge on the front says — the computer accessories & monitors page covers them in full.
Test on white and black
On white, dark specks that do not wipe away are dead pixels and any yellow or grey shadowing shows up plainly. On black in a dim room, a faint glow in the corners is normal on an IPS panel, but a bright band along a whole edge or a milky cloud through the middle means the backlight diffuser has shifted, and that is not a cheap repair.
Watch it from cold
Switch it on after it has been off for a while and just look at it. Flicker, an image that takes several tries to appear, or a screen that lights and then fades to almost nothing while the picture is still visible if you shine a torch at it, all point at the power board or the backlight driver rather than at a setting.
Test every video input
Feed a picture through HDMI, DisplayPort and VGA in turn and wiggle the plug at each socket. A picture that cuts out when the cable moves means a cracked solder joint on the socket. Check too that the power adapter is the one made for that monitor, because external bricks get swapped between models and the wrong one strains the board.
Check stand and VESA holes
Lift the monitor by its stand and see whether the panel sags or the tilt hinge holds where you set it. Then look at the four screw holes on the back: if they are stripped or the model only ever took a proprietary bracket, a generic arm or wall mount will not fit and a missing stand becomes a real problem.
Work the keyboard and mouse
Open a text box and work across the whole keyboard including the number pad and the arrow cluster. Keys that stick, repeat or do nothing usually mean a spill has reached the membrane. On a mouse, click slowly twenty times and watch for one press registering as two, which is a worn micro-switch, and scroll a long page to catch a jumping wheel.
Copy files both ways
For an external hard disk or SSD, move a few gigabytes each way and watch the transfer speed hold steady, then read the drive's SMART data for reallocated sectors and power-on hours. Clicking, a transfer that stalls at the same point, or a drive that vanishes from the desktop mid-copy means the drive is on its way out.
