Used Logitech computer accessories & monitors in Islamabad & Rawalpindi
Is a used Logitech computer accessories & monitor worth buying?
Logitech keyboards, mice and webcams come into Pakistan as imports, and the second-hand pool mixes genuine units with a substantial run of counterfeits, particularly of the popular mouse models. Genuine Logitech peripherals are worth buying used because the switches and scroll mechanisms outlast the plastic. The MX and M-series wireless lines and the C-series webcams are what circulate most. Verify authenticity first, condition second.
Imported
Parts usually have to be imported or sourced from the grey market, so a repair takes longer and costs more — which matters more on an older unit than the build quality does.
Logitech has no consumer-level repair network in Islamabad or Rawalpindi; peripherals are treated as replace-not-repair. Independent shops will occasionally reflow a switch or swap a micro-switch, but there is no genuine spares supply, so buy on tested condition rather than expecting a fix.

Checking a used Logitech computer accessories & monitor
These are specific to Logitech. The general computer accessories & monitors checks apply too and are on the computer accessories & monitors page.
Check for the receiver
Unifying and Bolt receivers are tiny and routinely lost. A Unifying device can pair to any Unifying receiver via Logitech Options, but a Bolt device needs a Bolt receiver — the two are not interchangeable.
Verify it is not a counterfeit
Counterfeit Logitech mice are common in this market. Look for crisp moulding on the underside label, a clean serial and part number, and check that number on Logitech's site before buying.
Test the scroll wheel encoder
Scroll slowly through a long page in both directions. A failing encoder shows as the page jumping back a line while scrolling forward — the classic Logitech wear point and a solder-level repair.
Press each mouse button twenty times
Micro-switch double-click is the other common fault. Twenty deliberate single clicks in a text field will reveal a switch that registers two presses from one.
Check battery compartment corrosion
On AA-powered M-series mice and K-series keyboards, open the compartment and look at the contacts. Green or white residue from a leaked cell means the contacts need cleaning or the unit will not power reliably.
What Logitech computer accessories & monitors are worth
- Verified-genuine units hold value well above unbranded peripherals, because the counterfeit problem makes provenance itself worth something.
- A missing Bolt receiver hits value harder than a missing Unifying one, since Bolt devices cannot fall back to any spare receiver.
- Mechanical wear in switches and scroll encoders is the ceiling on a used unit's value, and it is not economically repairable at the shop level here.
General computer accessories & monitors checks
These apply whatever the badge on the front says — the computer accessories & monitors page covers them in full.
Test on white and black
On white, dark specks that do not wipe away are dead pixels and any yellow or grey shadowing shows up plainly. On black in a dim room, a faint glow in the corners is normal on an IPS panel, but a bright band along a whole edge or a milky cloud through the middle means the backlight diffuser has shifted, and that is not a cheap repair.
Watch it from cold
Switch it on after it has been off for a while and just look at it. Flicker, an image that takes several tries to appear, or a screen that lights and then fades to almost nothing while the picture is still visible if you shine a torch at it, all point at the power board or the backlight driver rather than at a setting.
Test every video input
Feed a picture through HDMI, DisplayPort and VGA in turn and wiggle the plug at each socket. A picture that cuts out when the cable moves means a cracked solder joint on the socket. Check too that the power adapter is the one made for that monitor, because external bricks get swapped between models and the wrong one strains the board.
Check stand and VESA holes
Lift the monitor by its stand and see whether the panel sags or the tilt hinge holds where you set it. Then look at the four screw holes on the back: if they are stripped or the model only ever took a proprietary bracket, a generic arm or wall mount will not fit and a missing stand becomes a real problem.
Work the keyboard and mouse
Open a text box and work across the whole keyboard including the number pad and the arrow cluster. Keys that stick, repeat or do nothing usually mean a spill has reached the membrane. On a mouse, click slowly twenty times and watch for one press registering as two, which is a worn micro-switch, and scroll a long page to catch a jumping wheel.
Copy files both ways
For an external hard disk or SSD, move a few gigabytes each way and watch the transfer speed hold steady, then read the drive's SMART data for reallocated sectors and power-on hours. Clicking, a transfer that stalls at the same point, or a drive that vanishes from the desktop mid-copy means the drive is on its way out.
