Used & new Audio, Speakers & Home Theatre for sale in Islamabad & Rawalpindi

Where can I buy used audio, speakers & home theatre in Islamabad?

Checking audio means listening to each channel on its own rather than to the system as a whole. A five-speaker set still sounds broadly right with a dead centre channel or a rear satellite that is only humming. It also means the subwoofer, every satellite, the remote, the speaker leads and the mains cable being accounted for, since connectors are often proprietary. Used items are condition-graded and delivered across both cities.

What to check before buying a used audio, speakers & home theatre

These are the checks that set the condition grade on anything we list — and the ones worth running yourself wherever you buy.

Sweep the volume control

Turn the volume slowly from zero to loud with music playing. Crackle or a drop-out as the knob passes one point is usually a dirty potentiometer, which cleans up. A channel that fades in and out on its own, or cuts when the cabinet is tapped, is a dry solder joint or a failing output stage.

Drive each channel separately

Use the balance control, the setup menu's test tone, or move one speaker lead at a time so every output is heard alone. A home theatre missing its centre or a rear still sounds full on music, and the dead channel only becomes obvious once someone sits down to a film.

Press around the speaker surround

Run a finger gently around the ring between the cone and the frame. Foam surrounds perish with age and crumble to dust, and a perished surround buzzes on bass until it is re-foamed. Rubber surrounds that have gone hard and cracked behave the same way.

Listen for a rubbing woofer

Play something with steady low bass at moderate volume and listen for a rasp or scrape underneath the note. Press the cone straight down with fingers spread wide; it should travel smoothly with no grinding. A rubbing voice coil means that driver is finished.

Test every input in turn

Bluetooth pairing, USB, AUX, optical and HDMI ARC all fail independently of one another. On systems with a disc mechanism, load a disc as well, since trays that will not open and lasers that will not read are the usual first failure and the mechanism is often no longer supplied.

Check cabinets and batteries

Wooden and MDF speaker boxes that have stood on a wet floor swell along the bottom edge and the joints open, which changes how they sound and how they hold a screw. On rechargeable trolley speakers, unplug and run on battery for a few minutes; a pack that sags quickly, or a swollen one, needs replacing.

Brands we see most

These are the audio, speakers & home theatre brands that come up most often in the Islamabad and Rawalpindi second-hand market. We trade others too — this is what typically turns up, not a list of what is in stock today.

Buying used audio, speakers & home theatre — frequently asked questions

One satellite from my 5.1 home theatre is missing. Can I still sell it?

Yes, but not as a complete system. Satellites on packaged sets are matched to their receiver, often with proprietary plugs and a specific impedance, so a speaker from another set rarely substitutes. Systems short of a speaker are graded down or broken for parts. Send photos of everything you do have, including the leads, subwoofer and remote.

Do you buy old amplifiers, cassette decks and record players?

Older separates are traded, and the state of the amplifier stage matters more than the year on the badge. A receiver that drives both channels cleanly is worth handling even if its tuner is dead. Decks and turntables are judged on the transport: belts perish and are replaceable, but a broken head, a worn stylus or a seized platter motor is a larger job.

My speaker crackles when the volume goes up. Is that a serious fault?

It depends where the crackle originates. Noise that changes as you move the volume knob is usually a dirty control and cleans up. Crackle tied to one speaker at any volume, or a rasp under bass notes, is more likely the driver or that amplifier channel, which is the expensive end. Swap the speaker leads left to right to see which side the fault follows.
