Sell your used Wardrobes & Storage in Islamabad & Rawalpindi
Who buys used wardrobes & storage in Islamabad?
Wardrobes and almirahs come up for sale when a fitted cupboard goes into a bedroom that already had a freestanding one, or when a tenant leaves a full-height wardrobe that will not fit the next flat. They are among the harder household items to sell privately, because the buyer's first question is whether the thing comes apart and goes up their stairs. A dealer who collects from the doorstep settles that question.

What we check on a used wardrobes & storage
These are the checks that decide the grade — and the same ones worth running yourself before you accept any offer for your wardrobes & storage.
Slide each door end to end
A sliding door should travel the full width under light finger pressure and stay level at both ends. Grinding, or a door that lifts and rides out of its channel, means worn rollers or grit packed in the bottom track. Rollers are a standard replacement; a bent track is much less so.
Pull a hinged door's top corner
Open the door and pull gently outward at the top corner. If the hinge cup shifts inside the panel, the particle board around it has stripped and the door will drop again after any repair. A steel hinge plate screwed into solid wood takes the same test without moving.
Read the gaps around the doors
Stand back and look at the margins. Even gaps top and bottom mean the carcass is still square; a wedge-shaped gap that narrows towards one corner means the box has racked, usually from being dragged or moved without its back panel fixed on.
Press the back panel
Reach behind and push the hardboard back. That thin panel is what holds a wardrobe square, so a back that is torn, missing or hanging off its pins explains most racked carcasses and is worth checking before anything else.
Open drawers, turn the lock
Pull each drawer fully out on its runners; runners that sag or grate when the drawer is empty will fail once it holds clothes. On a steel almirah, ask for the key and turn the locker lock both ways, because a lost key means a locksmith or a drilled lock.
Check the base for damp and rust
Smell inside and run a hand along the bottom shelf and the lower back corners. A wardrobe that stood against an exterior wall picks up mildew in the board, and a steel almirah left on a wet floor rusts upward from the base, often underneath sound-looking paint.
What raises the price of used wardrobes & storage
- Whether the unit dismantles flat, since a one-piece full-height wardrobe cannot be carried up many stairwells and that alone rules out a large part of the market.
- Intact mirror fronts, because desilvered or cracked mirror glass both lowers the grade and makes the piece harder to move safely.
- Complete internals: hanging rail and its brackets, every shelf, the shelf pins, drawer runners, and the key for any lock.
- Laminate or veneer still bonded at the edges, particularly along the bottom rail where mop water sits.
- On steel almirahs, a straight, unrusted base and doors that still close flush against the frame.
What makes an item For Parts rather than resale
- A carcass racked out of square with stripped screw seatings across several panels, which will not hold a repair.
- A bottom sliding track bent or pulled away from the carcass, because the doors have no other way to hang and the track is cut to that one unit.
- A cracked mirror front, which cannot be transported safely.
- A steel almirah rusted thin at the bottom edge, where the metal flexes under thumb pressure.
