Sell your used Printers, Scanners & Copiers in Islamabad & Rawalpindi

Who buys used printers, scanners & copiers in Islamabad?

Offices closing a floor, print shops around Aabpara and Bank Road, schools and home users who print a few pages a month all shop second-hand, and each wants something different: the photocopier buyer looks at the meter reading, the home buyer at whether the cartridge is still sold. A printer switched on recently, printing its own test page, is easier to place than one that sat unused for a year.

What we check on a used printers, scanners & copiers

These are the checks that decide the grade — and the same ones worth running yourself before you accept any offer for your printers, scanners & copiers.

Print the panel self-test

Every printer can print a test or configuration page from its own buttons, without a computer or a driver in the way. That single page tells you whether the engine, the head or drum, and the paper feed all work. Banding, a missing colour, or a page that comes out blank narrows the fault down before you have installed anything.

Rub a solid black page

Print a page with a solid dark area and run your thumb across it once it is out. Toner that smudges or lifts means the fuser is not reaching temperature, which is a heating element or sleeve job. Marks that repeat down the page at the same regular spacing come from a damaged roller or drum, and the spacing tells a technician which one.

Read the meter counters

The configuration page carries the total pages the machine has put through and, on most lasers and copiers, how much drum and toner life is reported left. Weigh that against what the model was built for: a high count on an office copier designed for volume is less worrying than a modest count on a small home printer.

Look for ink-tank conversions

Factory ink-tank machines have bottles designed into the body. An aftermarket tank glued to a cartridge printer, with tubes taped along the case, is a conversion, and the tubes kink, air gets in and the head starves. Ask for the printer to be run in front of you before you decide, and pull a cartridge to see whether it has been drilled and refilled.

Scan white and feed pages

Scan one plain white A4 page and open the result full size. A thin line running the whole length of the scan is dirt or a scratch on the glass strip, or a mark on the scan bar. Then put five or six sheets through the document feeder: skewed pages, two sheets pulled at once, or a jam every time means the pick-up rollers are worn flat.

Check consumables and drivers exist

Note the exact cartridge or toner code from the machine and confirm it is still stocked locally, and check the manufacturer lists a driver for the operating system you actually run. A tidy printer whose consumable has been discontinued, or that only ever had drivers for an operating system two generations old, is a shelf ornament.

What raises the price of used printers, scanners & copiers

  • Whether it is a laser or a factory ink-tank machine rather than an old cartridge inkjet, because running cost is the first thing a print-heavy buyer asks about.
  • A meter reading that sits comfortably inside what the model was rated for, with drum and fuser life still reported as remaining.
  • Working extras that people actually use: automatic duplex, network or Wi-Fi printing, and a document feeder that pulls one sheet at a time.
  • Cartridges or toner for that model still being made and easy to buy in the twin cities, in original form as well as compatible.
  • A complete machine, with the power lead, paper cassette, output tray and scanner lid all present and undamaged.

What makes an item For Parts rather than resale

  • An inkjet whose print head is built into the body rather than the cartridge and will not clear after repeated cleaning cycles.
  • Cracked gears, a snapped tray latch or a bent frame in the paper path, usually from a jam pulled out by force, because it will jam again on every job.
  • A model whose toner or cartridge has been discontinued locally, however clean and low-mileage the machine itself is.
  • A scanner that reports a carriage or lamp error and never moves, since the scan bar assembly is specific to the model and rarely worth sourcing.

Brands we see most

These are the printers, scanners & copiers brands that come up most often in the Islamabad and Rawalpindi second-hand market. We trade others too — this is what typically turns up, not a list of what is in stock today.

Selling Printers, Scanners & Copiers — frequently asked questions

Is a used laser printer a safer buy than a used inkjet?

For text and volume, generally yes. Toner is a dry powder and does not spoil when a machine sits idle for months, which is exactly what kills second-hand inkjets in a home that prints a few pages at a time. An inkjet earns its place for photos, and a factory ink-tank model is fine if it is used regularly. On a laser, check the drum and the fuser instead of the head.

What does a printer's page count actually tell me?

It tells you how many sheets have gone through the engine, and it is printed on the configuration page the machine produces from its own panel. Read it against the monthly duty the model was designed for. It also usually reports drum and toner life remaining, which is what decides whether a cheap-looking machine needs an expensive consumable straight away.

The printer has an ink tank taped to the side. Does that matter?

It depends whether it came that way. Ink-tank models are built around refillable bottles and are designed for it. A cartridge printer converted afterwards, with tubes running along the outside of the case, is a common local modification that causes head starvation when a tube kinks or draws air. Watch that machine print a full page before deciding anything about it.

Do you buy non-working printers, scanners & copiers?

Yes, we buy non-working printers, scanners & copiers for parts at a reduced price. Just describe the fault honestly and we'll quote accordingly.

How fast do I get paid?
