Sell your used Laptops & Computers in Islamabad & Rawalpindi

Who buys used laptops & computers in Islamabad?

Used laptops and desktops go to students, home offices and small businesses buying in twos and threes, and the specification does most of the talking. Processor generation, whether the drive is an SSD, how much RAM is fitted and whether the machine can still take a supported version of Windows count for more than cosmetic condition. Desktops, monitors, printers and complete set-ups are bought as well as laptops.

What we check on a used laptops & computers

These are the checks that decide the grade — and the same ones worth running yourself before you accept any offer for your laptops & computers.

Pull the battery report

On Windows, run powercfg /batteryreport from a command prompt and compare design capacity against full charge capacity; on a Mac, check cycle count and battery condition in System Information. A wide gap means an hour or less away from the charger, and on many models the pack is a simple swap while on others it is glued in.

Work the hinges and lid

Open and close the lid slowly several times while watching where the hinge meets the palm rest and the screen bezel. Creaking, a bezel lifting at the corner, or a hinge that stiffens at one end means the plastic mounts underneath are cracking, which worsens with use and is awkward to repair properly.

View a plain white screen

Full white shows dead and stuck pixels, patchy backlight and yellowing; full black shows bleed and pressure marks. Flex the lid gently and watch for flicker or a colour shift, which points at a display cable chafing where it passes through the hinge.

Read the drive's health

CrystalDiskInfo, or the SMART data in the firmware settings, gives this in a minute. On a hard disk, reallocated or pending sectors mean it is on the way out; on an SSD, look at percentage used and total data written. Also confirm whether it is a mechanical disk at all, since that alone makes an otherwise capable machine feel unusable.

Type through every key

Open a text box and press every key, including the number pad and the function row, then click both bottom corners of the trackpad. Keyboards are model-specific, and one dead key usually means replacing the whole assembly, which on many laptops sits under the entire top cover.

Check for passwords and locks

Restart into the BIOS or firmware settings and confirm nothing asks for a supervisor password, and on a Mac confirm the machine is signed out and not activation-locked. Neither can be cleared by ordinary repair, so a locked machine is a parts machine whatever its specification says.

What raises the price of used laptops & computers

  • Processor generation sets the band before anything else, largely because of where the line falls for running a currently supported version of Windows, below which machines get sold for light use or Linux.
  • An SSD rather than a mechanical hard disk, the amount of RAM fitted, and whether either can be upgraded, since soldered memory and a single non-removable drive cap what the machine can ever become.
  • Having the correct original charger, because slim-tip and proprietary connectors differ within the same brand and an undersupplying replacement is a routine cause of complaints.
  • Screen quality counts for anyone using the machine all day, meaning resolution and whether the panel is a washed-out narrow-angle one or something better.
  • Business ranges such as Latitude, EliteBook and ThinkPad are easier to place because keyboards, batteries and screens for them are readily available locally, while gaming machines turn on whether the discrete graphics chip is a known-good one.

What makes an item For Parts rather than resale

  • Liquid damage, where corrosion on the board keeps spreading after the machine dries and resurfaces later as dead ports, a dead keyboard or no charging.
  • A BIOS supervisor password or an activation-locked Mac, neither of which can legitimately be cleared.
  • No picture on the internal panel and none on an external monitor either, which puts the fault on the board or graphics chip rather than the screen.
  • Shutdowns under load that continue after the fan has been cleaned and the thermal paste replaced.

Brands we see most

These are the laptops & computers brands that come up most often in the Islamabad and Rawalpindi second-hand market. We trade others too — this is what typically turns up, not a list of what is in stock today.

Selling Laptops & Computers — frequently asked questions

My laptop screen is cracked. Is it still worth selling?

Yes, and usually more than people assume. The panel is one of the few laptop parts that is genuinely replaceable, and common sizes are easy to source, so a cracked screen on an otherwise healthy machine is a repair rather than a write-off. Plug it into an external monitor first: if the picture there is clean, the fault is confined to the panel.

Should I wipe the laptop before it is collected?

Back up first, then sign out of the accounts tied to the machine, including Microsoft, Apple or Google, and remove any BIOS or firmware password before running a factory reset. A reset on its own does not clear an activation lock or a supervisor password, and a machine still asking for someone else's credentials cannot be resold. Remove any SIM or memory card as well.

Do you buy desktop PCs, monitors and printers separately?

They are traded separately, although a complete set-up with tower, monitor, keyboard, mouse and leads is simpler to place than loose parts. Individual components have their own market, so graphics cards, RAM, SSDs and working power supplies all move on. Printers are judged mainly on the print head and whether cartridges or toner for that model are still sold.

Do you buy non-working laptops & computers?

Yes, we buy non-working laptops & computers for parts at a reduced price. Just describe the fault honestly and we'll quote accordingly.

How fast do I get paid?

You're paid cash on the spot when we collect the item, after a quick inspection to confirm its condition.
