Sell your used Generators, UPS & Solar in Islamabad & Rawalpindi

Who buys used generators, ups & solar in Islamabad?

Power kit turns over here for one reason above all: a household that moves to solar stops using the generator and the old UPS, and both leave the store room together. Petrol generators, battery banks, inverters, panels and charge controllers each have their own buyers, usually someone topping up an existing bank or replacing a failed unit rather than buying a whole system. Free pickup, cash on collection.

What we check on a used generators, ups & solar

These are the checks that decide the grade — and the same ones worth running yourself before you accept any offer for your generators, ups & solar.

Start it from cold

Ask that the generator has not been run that morning. A healthy engine catches within a few pulls, or on the first turn of the key, and settles to a steady note. Long cranking, a haze of unburnt petrol or blue smoke that will not clear after a minute points at worn rings or a carburettor that has been standing.

Run it under load

No-load running proves very little. Plug in something substantial, an iron or a heater, and listen. The engine should take the load with a brief dip and then hold. Lights that dim and brighten, or an engine hunting up and down, suggest a tired governor or a failing AVR.

Check the oil and smoke

Pull the dipstick before anything is started. Oil that is milky, thin or smells of petrol tells you more than any test run. Under load, black smoke is a fuelling problem and blue smoke is oil getting past the rings, and both are easier to spot before the engine is warm enough to hide them.

Inspect the battery bank

On a UPS or solar setup the batteries carry much of the value. Look for the manufacture date on the case, bulging sides, powdery corrosion at the terminals and low electrolyte in a tubular cell. A bank that charges full and then runs a couple of fans for minutes rather than hours is finished.

Watch the changeover

Switch off the main breaker with a fan and a light running. A sound inverter takes over without the fan stopping and without loud relay chatter. Note also whether it is a pure sine wave unit or a modified wave one, which makes fans and motors buzz and is wanted less.

Hold panels to the light

Look across a panel face at an angle. Cracked glass, hairline crazing across the cells, brown snail trails and bubbling of the plastic back sheet all mean output that will not come back. Check the junction box cover is sealed and the MC4 leads are not perished, and read the rating plate rather than trusting a quoted figure.

What raises the price of used generators, ups & solar

  • The age and health of the battery bank, because a good inverter behind a dead bank is judged as an inverter alone.
  • Pure sine wave output, a legible rating plate and a model whose boards and spares are still on the local market.
  • For a generator, honest running hours, a service record, and whether it self-starts or carries an automatic changeover panel.
  • Whether a gas conversion was done with a proper kit and the petrol side left usable, rather than improvised at the carburettor.
  • Completeness: charge controller, mounting frames, MC4 leads, wheels, trolley handle and the manual all count.

What makes an item For Parts rather than resale

  • An engine that will not start on fresh fuel and a new plug, or that knocks once a load is applied.
  • A burnt smell, blown board or corroded transformer inside an inverter, since the board swap costs more than the unit carries.
  • Panels with cracked glass, delamination or scorch marks at the junction box.
  • Swollen or leaking batteries, which go the lead scrap route rather than being resold as working cells.

Brands we see most

These are the generators, ups & solar brands that come up most often in the Islamabad and Rawalpindi second-hand market. We trade others too — this is what typically turns up, not a list of what is in stock today.

Selling Generators, UPS & Solar — frequently asked questions

Is a UPS or inverter with dead batteries worth anything?

Yes, but as two separate items. The inverter is judged on its board, transformer and output waveform, and a working pure sine wave unit is still wanted on its own. Dead lead-acid batteries follow the lead scrap route and are valued as metal, not as batteries. State how many batteries there are and roughly how old they are when you enquire.

Does converting a generator to gas lower its value?

A tidy conversion with a proper kit, and the petrol side left intact, bothers buyers far less than a hose pushed into the carburettor. Running on gas tends to keep the head hotter and wears valves and seats faster, so a converted set is judged on compression and starting rather than on its hour count. Keep the original parts if you still have them.

Are used solar panels worth buying?

Panels age slowly, and a clean module with unbroken glass, an intact back sheet and a sealed junction box still produces. Avoid cracked glass, browning along cell edges, bubbling, a chalky back sheet or scorch marks at the box. Manufacturer warranties generally do not transfer on resale, and mixing panels of different ratings in one string pulls the string down to its weakest member.

Do you buy non-working generators, ups & solar?

Yes, we buy non-working generators, ups & solar for parts at a reduced price. Just describe the fault honestly and we'll quote accordingly.

How fast do I get paid?

You're paid cash on the spot when we collect the item, after a quick inspection to confirm its condition.
