Is a used Fujifilm cameras, gaming & gadget worth buying?
Fujifilm covers two very different second-hand buys here: instax instant cameras, which are simple and cheap but whose running cost is imported film, and the X-series mirrorless bodies, bought for their colour profiles and physical dials. X-mount has less third-party glass circulating than Sony's E-mount, so plan the lenses before committing to the body.

Fujifilm bodies are imported and serviced by independent camera workshops in the twin cities. instax units are usually replaced rather than repaired because the ejection mechanism is effectively the camera; X-series shutter and sensor work means sending parts or the body abroad.

Eject a test frame
The ejection rollers and motor are what fail on an instax. Ask the seller to load a pack and eject at least one frame, because jams and half-ejected prints show up immediately.
Check instax battery contacts
These cameras get stored for months with cells left in. Open the battery bay and look for white or green corrosion on the springs, which is the usual reason a dead instax will not power up.
Feel the X-series dials
Fujifilm's appeal is physical controls, so worn detents matter. Turn the shutter-speed dial and the lens aperture ring through their range and listen for clicks that are mushy or skip positions.
Ask about the film supply
instax film is imported and is the entire ongoing cost of the camera. Confirm the format, whether Mini, Square or Wide, because the packs are not interchangeable and the wider formats are harder to find locally.

Torch the lens for fungus
Point a torch into the front element and look through from the back. A little dust inside is normal in any used lens and almost never shows in a picture. What you are hunting is fungus: fine white threads branching like a spider's web across an internal element. In a damp cupboard it spreads and eventually etches the coating, and clearing it means a full strip-down.
Photograph a plain white wall
Set the smallest aperture the lens offers, aim at an evenly lit white wall or bright sky slightly out of focus, take a few frames, then view them zoomed right in. Dark specks that appear in exactly the same place in every frame are on the sensor. Loose dust cleans off; a scratch on the filter in front of the sensor does not.
Read the shutter count
Most Nikon and Sony bodies write the actuation count into every image file, and any free EXIF viewer will show it; some Canon bodies need a small utility instead. Compare it with the shutter rating published for that model. A high count is not a fault by itself, but the shutter is the part that wears out, so it tells you where in its life the body sits.
Focus on printed text
Photograph a page of print or a brick wall at an angle, once in good light and once in a dim room, with every lens. Focus that hunts back and forth and never locks, or that consistently lands just in front of or behind the point you chose, means the body or that lens needs calibration. Try the same shot in live view, which uses a different focus method.
Release both thumbsticks and watch
In the console's controller test screen or any menu, release both sticks completely and see whether the cursor or camera creeps on its own. Then rotate each stick slowly through a full circle feeling for dead spots. Drift is the most common console fault, it lives in the stick module rather than the software, and a recalibration only hides it.
Play a game twenty minutes
Load an actual game and leave it running, then listen to the fan and hold a hand near the exhaust. A fan that climbs to a roar within minutes, or a console that switches itself off, is choked with dust and overdue for fresh thermal paste. While it runs, check a disc loads, the picture holds without HDMI dropouts, and the port's pins are straight.
